5-3-2008 -  Randolph-Macon College left fielder Mike Wallace a sophomore from Powhatan, earned All-Tournament Team Honors at last week's ODAC baseball playoffs. Mike led R-MC to it s first ODAC title since 1987 going 9 for 16 and driving in 9 runs. CONGRATS.....

12-2-2007 CONGRATS to former Richmond Kicker Dwyane De Rosario (F) who headed home the game-winner as the MLS Houston Dynamo defeated the New England Revolution to win the 2007 MLS Championship in front of 50,000 people at RFK Stadium. Dawyne was awarded Game MVP and it is his fourth MLS Championship since leaving the Kickers in 2001.

September 21, 2007 -  Hampden-Sydney College junior running back Josh Simpson has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week. The honor is Simpson's first of the season and the third of his career. Simpson racked up 293 total yards of offense and set an Old Dominion Athletic Conference and Hampden-Sydney record with seven touchdowns. WAY TO GO JOSH....

May 26, 2007 - Drew Walker (RB, LB) a rising freshman at Hampden Sydney College from Blessed Sacrament Huguenot School has won the Norwood-Davis Award Scholarship (a four year full scholarship based on character. leadership and community service).

May 26, 2007 - Kris Rochelle (Catcher) a senior at UNC Charlotte from Mills Godwin was named to the Atlantic Ten All-Conference First Team. For the season he batted .391 with 25 extra base hits and 44 RBi's helping his team to 44-10 season and a number one seed ranking in the post season tournament. 

May 25, 2007 Matt Hacker (2B) a senior at Virginia Tech from J.R. Tucker High School finished his college career in resounding fashion. He collected three hits in the game Friday night and a ninth-innning home run in a 9-8 loss on Saturday against runner up ACC Champions Wake Forest University.

May  25, 2007 -  Lee Bujakowski (DH) a sophomore at James Madison University from Hopewell High School was named to the All-Colonial Athletic Conference Association Second Team as a designated hitter.

May 15, 2007 -  Matt Moses (3B) of the Rochester Red Wings playing the second game of his home debut last night against the Richmond Braves contributed to a 3-1 win with some brilliant fielding plays and an RBI double.

May 3, 2007Luke Swiney (OF) Hampden-Sydney's sophomore outfielder from Mills Godwin High School, was named to the Old Dominion Athletic Conference All-Tournament Team.

April 10, 2007 -  Stephen Oswald (P, OF) of Douglas Freeman High School pitched a no-hitter against Dinwiddie High School. Stephen helped his team at the plate as well going 2-3 with 2 RBI's en route to a 13-0 win.

April 6, 2007Matt Moses (3B) begins the season for the Class AAA Rochester Red Wings. He was promoted from Class AA New Britain RockCats after spring training.

April 6, 2007Ryan Norwood (1B) begins the season for Upper Class A Daytona Cubs of the Florida State League. He was promoted from Lower Class A Peoria Chiefs of the Mid-West League after spring training.

March 29, 2007 -  Tyler Wilson (Pitcher) of Midlothian H igh School was named Player of The Week for his outstanding performance including a no-hitter against LC Bird. He is also hitting .667 with eight hits, four home runs, seven RBI and has a .750 on-base percentage. Tyler has signed a letter of intent to play baseball at the University of Virginia.

March 26, 2007Hank Coogan (Catcher) of the University of Richmond was named Co-Player of the Week in the    A-10 Conference going 14 for 28 with seven RBI and seven runs, raising his average to a team leading .427.

March 9, 2007 - Kenny Younger (RB) of Virginia Tech University wins 2007 Excalibur Award (first freshman in school history to do so) by squatting 600 lbs., bench press 405 lbs., and running the 40 yard dash in 4.50).  He also a  recipient of the 2007 Iron Hokie Award.

February 25, 2007 -  Joe Maltempi (DB) a Chemical Engineering sophomore has been selected for one of the walk-on positions for the LSU football team. He began practice with the team on January 22nd. Joe graduated from Thomas Dale where he played football and ran track. As a senior he was clocked in 4.41 for the forty yard dash.

February  10, 2007 - Barbara Strehler a sophomore from Trinity Episcopal School wins the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association Indoor Championship 3200 meter run (11:39.16) and takes 2nd place 1600 meter run (5:19.21) just 0.12 behind the winner. 

February 7, 2007Michael Allen (RB, DB) of Belssed Huguenot Academy signs to  play football at James Madison University.....

January 27, 2007 - Warner Blunt (QB) of Episcopal School in Alexandria becomes a Black Knight by signing to play football at the United States Military Academy at West Point.

January 10, 2007 -  John Ryan Reed (OF) formerly of LC Bird High School has transferred from UVA Wise to the University of West  Florida to continue his career. John was a First Team All-Apalachian Athletic Conference honoree and was ranked in the top 10 in the NAIA with a .443 batting avergage.

December 14, 2007 - Tyler Wilson (Pitcher) of Midlothian High School signs to play baseball at the University of Virginia.....

November 16, 2007 - Eric Curtis (Catcher) of Motoaca High School signs to play baseball at Virginia Commonwealth University.....

Ocober 23, 2006 - Kristin Stannard (Forward) of Stanford University (formerly Clover Hill High School) selected to the U-20 National Soccer Team Training Camp roster.....
